Enclosure for tapirs and sloths made by shotcrete

ZOO Olomouc

In close cooperation with the zookeepers of the Olomouc Zoo, we designed a new sandstone compound for tapirs and sloths very similar to the natural habitat of these animals. The main purpose here was to create artificial rocks with sandstone coating. The dominant Ficus tree in this enclosure is also done with the shotcrete technique. Designing and adding the final patina to the Ficus was very precise work and we are very pleased to hear that the Zoo visitors believe the tree is real.
