Imitation of a tree in a tropical glasshouse

Chrudim Garden centre

In 2018, for the Mikan Garden Centre, we created this artificial tree made of shotcrete. As a model we used one of the world’s oldest trees – Methuselah – Great Basin bristlecone pine, that grows in the White Mountains in eastern California, USA. We adjusted the final aspect to the requirements of the garden centre and the works took two months. With the actual plants and flowers, the concrete imitation of the Methuselah tree is in perfect symbiosis, although a great dominant in the centre of the tropical relaxation zone.
